ATOMICON!

Atomicon is back for our 5th year! Join us in celebrating all things comics, games, crafts, and costumes! Costume Contest and Costume Parade, Mesa Public Library Get your costumes ready, we will be hosting our annual contest of best costumes by popular vote. Participants enter the contest on the morning of Atomicon and votes are tallied throughout the day. We close Atomicon at the end of the day with a parade of all costumes and announce the winners of the contest. All the entry details to be published in the week before Atomicon. Adult & Teen activities, upper level of Mesa Public Library Lego Competition 10:00am–12:00pm Miniatures Painting Workshop 10:00am–12:00pm Guest Speakers: Octavio Ramo and Paul Ziomak, author and illustrator of the new comic Cuentos Infernales 1:30pm–3:00pm Tabletop Role Playing Games 12:30pm–4:30pm Registration required to join the TTRPG. Register for D&D, Pendragon, or Rangers of Shadow Deep Low sensory activities, main floor of Mesa Public Library The Library will provide a designated sensory-friendly zone for patrons to relax and reset. Self-led activities, include coloring, sensory fidgets, noise-canceling headphones, and light-dimming features, will support an environment established to support sensory needs and recharge from the main events. Youth and all ages activities, lower level of Mesa Public Library Find games to try, get a caricature drawn, paint a ceramic figure, take a photo in front of one of the fun photo backdrops. There is always an adventure to be found inside the library at Atomicon! Vendor Hall, Fuller Lodge Co-hosted with the Los Alamos Arts Council in historic Fuller Lodge, the Atomicon Vendor Hall is where you'll find artists selling their wares from jewelry to prints to hats and sweet treats. Free cotton candy will be available too. 9:00am–3:00pm Outdoor area between Mesa Public Library and Betty Ehart Senior Center The wooded triangle between the library and senior center will be reimagined as RenFairy Village. Enjoy free popcorn, outdoor games, and a few interesting "magical" guests. 10:00am–4:00pm Interested in being a part of Atomicon this year?
