Canaries in a Coal Mine Community Art Project at Tony Hillerman Library

Try your hand at something new and help an art activist towards her goal of sewing 250+ felt canaries by the end of this year. No experience? No problem! grow your skills while chatting with fellow artists, after all there is more than one way to sew a canary! Materials and pattern are provided but participants are asked to leave their canaries behind for the installation. Participants are encouraged to add distinguishing details to try to find their canary when the art exhibition is on display. All ages are welcome but anyone under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult to help them as we will be using needles in this program. No registration required!
