DUAL EXHIBITION RECEPTION: i thought i saw you yesterday & ¡Aquí Estamos! Catharsis in the Collection Friday, September 18, 2026 5:00pm – 7:30pm NHCC | Visual Art Museum Join us to celebrate the opening of two new NHCC Art Museum exhibitions as well as a reimagined gallery layout. Check out the exhibitions for free with music by DJ Estalactita. This new layout of the museum welcomes the Community Gallery at the entrance and transitions our Permanent Collections Gallery to the heart of the museum. Alongside this new change, we welcome two new exhibitions, i thought i saw you yesterday, curated by hazel batrezchavez and ¡Aquí Estamos! Catharsis in the Collection curated by Jadira Gurulé and the NHCC art team. i thought i saw you yesterday features artworks by nine artists who interweave their memories and ancestral knowledge to create a dialogue between life cycles, food, land, place, and the body. ¡Aquí Estamos! Catharsis in the Collection explores themes such as joy, playfulness, love, humor, catharsis, recovery, and perseverance through art.
