Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange and Intro to Puzzle Competitions

Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange Bring your jigsaw puzzles to the library to offer up in exchange for new ones! The library's own stash of puzzles, plus those offered for trade by anyone in the community will be available for you to browse on Sunday, July 26, starting at 2:00pm in the White Rock Branch Library. Offer your puzzle for trade: Drop your puzzle off in advance at the library (either branch! any desk!) or bring it with you to the Puzzle Exchange. When you offer your puzzle, we will have item tags for you to identify if there are any puzzle pieces missing and ensure we collect your name for the exchange day. Dropping off in advance allows us to better organize the day's exchange and plan the options available. Choose a new puzzle: For every puzzle you offer for exchange, you can choose a new puzzle at the Puzzle Exchange. The Puzzle Exchange is an in-person only event so you must be available to choose your new-to-you puzzles at White Rock Branch Library on July 25 from 2:00 to 4:30pm. The library will be using this event to also refresh it's own stock of puzzles. Visit our puzzle board at White Rock Branch Library (near the fireplace) and at Mesa Public Library (in Youth Services near the coloring tables, and on the main floor near the periodicals) where we put out a new puzzle every time one is completed. Drop in to the library any day of the year and you can join in completing a puzzle with fellow jigsaw puzzle friends! Intro to Puzzle Competition Have you wondered about Jigsaw Puzzle Competitions? The library has been hosting a new competition every few months and they're a hit! We've expanded as far as we possibly can and fill Fuller Lodge to the brim with competitors who are avid puzzlers. If you've been wary of signing up for a competition or unsure of how it works, come to the White Rock Branch Library on Sunday, July 26 and learn all about it from the library's puzzle competition lead. The multipurpose room in White Rock will be transformed into our competition floor. Bring a friend or two and the competition judge on hand will help set up a competition between you. Whether you are 5 years old or 105 years young, we can help choose an appropriate puzzle for your own mini competition. Puzzles are hidden from view and when your competition clock begins, your and your competitors can unveil the puzzle and get working! We'll make it fun and exciting for your abilities and the time you have available to stay. This will be a drop-in event, no pre-registration needed.
