Pick Your Poison: Environmental Change and Paleoecology at Cherry Hills Library

100 million years ago, the interior of North America including New Mexico were submerged under a shallow sea. Dinosaurs once roamed on the sediment of the coastal strips. Learn more about environmental change and paleoecology in the Late Cretaceous US Western Interior Seaway and Gulf Coastal Plain from Cori Myers, PhD. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at UNM. Cori specializes in paleobiogeography of marine invertebrates from North America. Cori’s research focuses on Earth-life interactions through time, including across mass extinction events, and how these influence extinction vulnerability and selectivity, with the hope to apply this knowledge to present-day environmental change and biological conservation efforts.
