Vladem Window Box Installation : The Promise

Santa Fe artist Linda Mae Tratechaud uses glass to explore the emotional complexity of caregiving & motherhood. Both fragile & resilient, glass & mixed-media sculptures weave together references to nursing, birth, play, & fatigue. The Promise reveals the emotional & physical labor that often underlies the fantasy of domestic bliss. An empty chair, an exhausted stained-glass figure, worn “Cinderella” slippers, an uneaten slice of cake, & suspended household objects evoke comforts just out of reach illuminating the invisible work, quiet resilience, sacrifice, & hidden costs that sustain family. The show runs from 8/1/2026 to 10/31/2026. The Vladem Window Box is visible from the street, on Montezuma with better views within the side vestibule or at night.
